Why you should think about your Local SEO

Setting up Google My Business as part of your Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and marketing strategy is a must and weather you’re a complete beginner or looking to update your information we’re here to give you a helping hand when it comes to your local SEO.

Search terms

Make sure that when you add your search terms into Google My Business you add your location in as a priority. This will create an all-round better listing and will appear more and more in front of the right people living in your local area. Local area listings naturally help local SEO. This will also ultimately drive more traffic towards your company and away from competitors who may be situated miles away from you.

Make sure you’re up to date

Keeping your Google My Business page up to date with relevant information is so important as you’ll lose those ever-important sales if you don’t keep it up to date with the right information.

This could include anything from a change of office, phone number, company name etc, so it’s important that you keep on top of your company changes. Even branding changes need reflecting.

Review

Introduce yourself to your local connections, anyone who enters your place of work and make that all important first impression a good one.

How many times have you been into a restaurant based on the Google or Trip Advisor reviews? The answer is probably more than you can count on one hand. People like to know where they’re going is reputable so that they’ll get their money’s worth.

Don’t be afraid to ask your customers to add a review on Google – even if the result comes back negatively, this will give your business the opportunity to improve its products and services.

Mobile

It’s so easy for users to search Google at their fingertips with the vast number of smart phones on the market which is why it’s so important to make sure that your business’ website looks great on both a desk top and on all smart mobile devices.

Making your website accessible on a mobile phone is something many people forget about but there is often an option when using website builders such as WordPress which enables you to double check what your website will look like on these devices and will allow you to make any necessary changes based on this view.

A recent report from SmartInsights.com showed that in 2017 more than 50 per cent of all web traffic generated worldwide came from mobile devices and this is expected to rise before 2020.
