We use Hootsuite for a number of different things, and have done for a while. The one thing we absolutely LOVE is its ability to create streams of search words with the added geocache function, making it very easy to carry out proactive and targeted social media marketing for our social media management clients.
However, a week or so ago we discovered that all is not as it seems at Hootsuite HQ. We had noticed that our search results had started to peter out, leaving us searching for other tools to carry out one of the key jobs we signed up to Hootsuite for. So we contacted Hootsuite.
If you are having a similar issue, rest assured Hootsuite are now aware and are working on the problem. Although no further progress has been made on this particular issue, the issue itself has been identified as a problem with Twitter’s API and the access Hootsuite has to it. We have been assured that the busy developers at Hootsuite HQ are working hard on a solution.
In the mean time, you may want to try Tweetdeck, which offers similar functionality. Or utilise the ‘Near You’ option on the Twitter Search function.
Happy Tweeting!
