Register

You don’t necessarily need to register on the site to be included in the Google’s results, but we advise doing so as it can help you understand how Google views your site which will allow you to optimise your websites performance in its search results.

The pros of the Google Search Console

The main benefit to using Google Search Console is that you can monitor your site’s performance in relevant keyword search results. However, there are lots of other elements that make it worthwhile too including:

  • Making sure that Google can access your content
  • Submitting new content for crawling
  • Removing content you don’t want shown in search results
  • Creating and monitoring content that delivers visually engaging search results
  • Maintaining your site with minimal disruption to search performance
  • Monitoring and resolving malware or spam issues so your site stays clean

It also allows you to see how Google and your audiences view your site which will leave lots of tips and hits for improvement.

The cons of the Google Search Console

We tried to wrack our brains for an answer to this and we could only pick out a couple of cons to using Google Search Console as we personally think it’s an extremely powerful tool.

One negative feature is that the Console provides a list of HTML errors which is discovered in the course of crawling your site, however, sometimes this feature is not up to date which means it frequently shows errors that you may previously have fixed.

Other search consoles

There is other software which can be used as an alternative to Google Search Console such a SEMrush or Moz, however, we trust Google above all other tools due to the fact, it runs the search engine and it wants every website to perform to the best of its ability as this is more profitable for the company and Google.

We’d also advise sticking to this Google tool due to the fact it is completely free to use where as other applications do charge to use the high-end premium services.
