We all know that the limited character bios are hard to get right. Do you spend time on creating a small paragraph selling you or do you just keep it short and simple? It can really depend on your industry and requirements but those little paragraphs can be the reason people click on, follow or engage.
Every social media platform has a bio of some description. Facebook has an ‘About Section’ which allows you to put in all of the details regarding your company, including dates of incorporation, contact details and even a full story which acts as an article. We would endorse using the ‘Story’ section to provide brief overview of your company, what you do, where you cover and how people can get in touch. You’ll be surprised how many people actually read these!
Twitter has a much smaller bio of 160 characters, this includes spaces so make sure to keep your bio concise, to the point and include key facts. For a business, this could include email, phone number and a short description of your business. This should be something you use universally across your branding.
Instagram is also a very short bio at 150 characters. Make use of arranging your details in a listed format to maximise space and eye-catching information. You can use buttons on your business profile to list your email, address and number so keep your bio to details and relevant information. You can even use emoji’s to make this more engaging.
Your LinkedIn Business page can fit 200 characters, so you have a bit more to work with. LinkedIn company pages are extremely useful to sell yourself with as Google ranks these pages highly. Make sure to name your business correctly, include your key words you want to rank for and include your location in this bio. Your contact details aren’t as important in this bio as people don’t tend to use the company LinkedIn page for this information.
