Who are Commsave
Commsave are a Northamptonshire based credit union offering financial services such as savings and loans to their members.
The key difference between a credit union and a bank is that a credit union is a not-for-profit generally owned and controlled by their members.
A member exclusive application with admin panel
Commsave were looking to build an application which allowed their members access to various resources including articles, financial tools, and embedded Money Advice Service tools.
They wanted to allow exclusive access to content solely to their members, with snippets of information available to the general public to encourage signups.
Finally an administration panel was requested to allow the Commsave team to regularly add and update content, and add new users. Post launch we were asked if it was possible to record specific analytics direct on the admin panel.
A bespoke PHP and Laravel application with full admin access
Our team of developers specialise predominately in the LAMP stack. Written in PHP and using the Laravel web application framework, our developers built a quick and responsive application that now allows users to firstly view a snippet of content, before being taken through a signup process to view the entire article.
Working alongside an Open University professor, we were able to build a Money Motivation test; an interactive test with the ability to gain a unique insight into a person’s money mindset (using a series of questions and formulae).
Further tools were integrated from the Money Advice Service which allowed various functionality from calculating a loan to budgeting finances.
Finally we developed an admin panel which allowed certain users the ability to upload and categorise new content, and manage users. We are about to start development on a new area of the admin panel which will allow access to key analytical data.
