Who is the client
Northampton Life is an online publication based in Northamptonshire. They promote local news and business stories, as well as sharing events, promotions and what’s on news. Northampton Life is a sister company to onefoursix so when we updated their website to a more clean and modern version, we aligned our email marketing services to help push their messages further.
What was their requirement
They came to us when they needed a newsletter email campaign creating and sending weekly. The newsletter was to include recent news as well as stories that needed to be shared from local sponsors. The aim was to drive awareness of these stories and to increase visits to the website to read the full articles.
What was our solution?
We created a newsletter via Mailchimp that was easy to adapt and run on a weekly basis. The newsletter has recently received one of its highest open and click through rates, showing that even through the Coronavirus outbreak, people still want to hear about positive stories happening in their town. This email in particular received an open rate of 23% and a click through rate of 8%. It also now has a recipients mail list of nearly 4k.
A weekly newsletter is a great way of sharing your latest news with your clients. Test plans can be put in place to find out which times and days suit your client list the most. For example; research has shown that most people look at their emails first thing in the morning, so scheduling an email for 7am could be a huge benefit to your business. A 50/50 test on subject lines will also help to find out which tone of voice resonates with your clients.
